|I am going to give a go at refurbishing a limited set of boards. Those will include those from the Athena 1200 - 2000 - 2005 models. For now, those boards will include the
Logic - Servo and Override boards only. If things work out, I will attempt to expand to the 1060 - 2001 and 2010 models and the Diana as well. With that said, I do not
have Logic Boards for the Athena or Touch Tronic 1200 models, however the Servo and Override boards are compatible.
Pricing and Rules: (Discontinued 3/17/18)
The boards, unless stated otherwise, are $75.00 plus a $20.00 core charge, you MUST return your old board. A shipping label and instructions will be supplied. If you do not
return the old board upon confirmation of delivery within 30 days, YOU WILL BE BILLED AN ADDITIONAL $20.00 PLUS THE POSTAGE LABEL PROVIDED.
Return labels will have tracking numbers available.
Pattern Panels: (Discontinued 3/17/18)
Pattern Panels will be subject to a $10.00 core charge. As above, you MUST return your old Pattern Panel. I may, or may not, be able to refurbish, but none the less, you
must return your old pattern panel for the core charge refund. Athena and Touch Tronic Panels do differ in appearance, but the 2000 and 2005 models are interchangeable.
Sample pictures below, and you are free to swap parts between the original and provided panel, but again, must return a complete panel for a core charge refund. Examples of
panels shown below.
If you have questions, do please ask before ordering. I sincerely hope this helps those with these machines and wish to keep them running.
All my boards are tested and will be non DOA. However, I cannot provide a warranty, as I have no idea who is going to install the replacement board. One must understand
and remember, you should have the machine professionally scanned and have the boards adjusted to meet proper voltage outputs. I have tested, adjusted if necessary, but
cannot not guarantee that the same board will perform in "your" machine as it did in mine. Each board is dependant upon the other boards it connects to for correct voltage
outputs. Should you have a board that is out of spec, and it damages the refurbished board, I cannot help that. If you are going to DO IT YOURSELF, no problem, but I
highly recommend that you order the appropriate service manual at the same time, so you have the spec's, and can achieve proper voltage adjustments.
You should equip yourself with a highly accurate digital multimeter, capable of reading thousandths of a volt, or millivolts.
And to wrap this up some, PLEASE DO NOT ASK ME WHAT BOARD YOU MIGHT NEED. I have no idea, you must scan your machine to determine which board is at
fault, and I cannot second guess that for you. Wish I could, but in all honesty, I cannot.
Updated & Effective as of: 3/17/18: Upon posting this in 2014, there have been zero requests or queries about rebuilt boards. As such it is discontinued. There are no core
charges unless return of boards are requested, and approved by myself. As of March 17, 2018, I may, or may not have the board you require. I feel it best to consider these
models retired from service due to lack of available repairable circuit boards: US Made Athena 1200, 2000, Touch Tronic 2000, 2001, 2010, 2005, 2005A, 1060, 560.
German Made: Futura 1000, 2000 and others that may fall into that category. (Note: those models may have European Support Available, but not available to myself)
And while not noted in any statement above, it was the original intention, core charges were only applicable to "repairable" items. If the returned item is unrepairable, the core
charge is then vacated and not allowed. The intention was to help keep boards in circulation for those in need of them, but only if a returned board could be made salvageable.
In short, If I request a core, then refunds may apply. If I do not request the part to be returned, then their is no applicable core charge refund provided. If I request that one
return the part, then a core charge may apply, but only if that part is repairable. Rebuilt Boards are Discontinued, but feel free to inquire at this time about Servo, Logic or
Overridge Boards for the Athena 2000.

|The Athena made its debut in 1975, and in my opinion, was an instant success. Singer had set the standard in Electronics, and open the door to a whole new world. Later the machine would be relabeled as a "Touch
Tronic". Why, I don't know right off.
No letter should precede any digits, if it does, and this refers to when they debuted in 1975, then it was a factory refurbished machine. Meaning it was return to the factory, mainly due to electronic problems that could
not be solved in the field just yet. If I recall, the serial may start with an X or F, or perhaps both XF...plus, keep in mind, serial numbers were normally stamped in the frame before they were painted. So if the number is
stamped in a non-painted area, that would provide some clue, or a display of what appears to be a double stamping before the serial number. (updated 10/20/10)
Ok, it goes like this: example serial is 5123321 (5 - 123 - 321)
The 5 is the year made, 1975 - The 123 was the day of the year - The 321 was the number of the machine that came off the line that day. One could determine if it was built on a Monday, or perhaps a Wednesday. Now
(updated 10/23/15) Should apply to Diana 560 - Futura 900/920, 1060, 1200, Athena & Touch Tronic 2000, 2001, 2010 Some will have a letter in front too, and that is either the Plant or Line in the plant it came off of.
3/23/14: Update for the Athena 1200 - 2000 and Touch Tronic 2005
For those interested, I am finding some of the components easier to locate today than years before. As such, I have deleted previous text that was here and wish to advise that YES, I am finally am going to give a go at
attempting to repair these specific boards for now. Boards in the Athena 1200 and 2000, and those in the Touch Tronic 2005. If things go well, and if components are obtainable I may even attempt repairs to the Touch
Tronic 2001 and 2010 models, and to include the 1060 and Diana 560.
The information is available at the bottom of this page, but again, I wish to stress. Merely changing a board may not cure the problems. A full scan of the machine should be performed and all adjustments made.
Installing and connecting a refurbished board to another board that is out of electrical voltage spec may very well damage the refurbished board. See more information at the bottom of the page Plus at the bottom of the
page is some information about in-expensive meter I found while on vacation. It cost me about 40.00 bucks and did the job just fine. It is not a recommendation, surely there are other meters out there that do the same.
